Smashbox Drawn In, Decked Out Photo Finish Primer Set | Reviews

It’s that time of year, ladies n’ gents!! Holiday gift sets have hit the shelves! I’m going to be honest, I’m kind of pathetically obsessed with buying holiday gift sets. I’m like that Oprah meme, “you get a gift set, you get a gift set, you all get a gift set!!!” (I get myself a lot of gift sets, though. Whatever.) Ulta and Sephora always puts out amazing gift sets for really good prices!

Last week at Ulta I came across the new Smashbox Drawn In, Decked Out Primer Set and seriously- if buying this was wrong, I don’t want to be right. The entire set is retailed at only $22, and you get 3 travel sizes of the most popular Smashbox primers! (Values at $48.) I thought this was a really good deal! Too good to pass up. Especially because I have honestly never tried their primers before, so just $22 to test each of the 3 primers out before committing to the full size seemed very reasonable to me.

In this gift set you receive- one 0.5 oz bottle of the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, one 0.5 oz bottle of the Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer, and one 1.0 oz bottle of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

This primer has been one of the most raved-about primers in the beauty industry. But, I’ve been too cheap to go buy it because I’ve always thought, “there’s no way a primer can actually ‘smooth’ out your skin.” WRONG. *Donald Trump voice.* This primer is free of oils and glides onto the skin like butter. It leaves your skin feeling like silky smooth canvas which allows your foundation to apply and blend flawlessly. The Photo Finish Foundation Primer is also very lightweight which I love because my skin doesn’t feel suffocated and cakey.

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

I was a ride or die Pore-Fessional Primer by Benefit Cosmetics for as long as I can remember. I was reaching out to purchase more cruelty free products, so I didn’t end up repurchasing the Pore-Fessional primer. (Check out why I went cruelty free in my latest post, here.) I was excited to see that this Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer was in this gift set because I was looking to try a different brand! This Smashbox Primer is very similar, if not the exact same, as the Pore-Fessional Primer. The 1 fl oz. Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer retails at $39, where the 0.75 fl oz (the largest size available) Pore-fessional Primer retails at $31. You do get more product purchasing the Smashbox primer for $8 more dollars.

I use a small amount of the product and apply it into my T-Zone area of my face, where my pores are more noticeable. $39 for a primer seems like it’s a lot, but the silicone base allows this primer to spread easily onto the skin. So a little bit goes a long way with this product.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

L-I-V-I-N-G for this Primer Water. Living. This is a 2-in-1 primer and setting spray- you can use it to prep for your makeup or to set your makeup. I typically use it for both because I’m obsessed with how moisturized andSmashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. hydrated my skin feels anytime I use it. It is oil-free like the other two primers, so if you’re more oily, it’s not going to leave any extra oils sitting on top of the skin. It literally feels like you’re splashing water directly onto your face. I highly recommend everyone to try this Primer Water! For my readers who have acne/break out issues, TRY THIS! It’ll be a fantastic primer for you because you’re not applying it with your fingers, you’re spraying it onto your skin which prevents the spreading dirt and/or bacteria! A+ Smashbox, A+!

What do you guys think!? Have you tried these primers before? What were your thoughts? Keep the comments coming- I love hearing from you guys!
